  • Single father of three beautiful and precious children.
  • Eighteen years with the City of Oakland Park Fire Rescue Department, with fourteen years as an officer.
  • Ten years with the City of Coral Springs Fire Academy, as a fire service instructor from 2002 to present.
  • Volunteer intramural baseball and football coach for Calvary Christian Academy from 2010 to present. 
  • Volunteer for the Florida Juvenile Detention Faith Based Program from 2007 through 2009.
  • Volunteer for the Guardian Ad Litem Program in 2008 through 2009.
  • Volunteer Missionary Instructor at Calvary Christian Academy for kindergarten and elementary children from 2006 through 2009.
  • Special Olympics volunteer from 1997 to 2000.
  • Big Brothers volunteer from 1996 to 2000.
  • Volunteer organizer and coordinator for the City of Oakland Park's "Children's Life Safety Fair" in 2005,  the "Annual Camp Olympiad's Day with the Firefighters" since 2001, the Broward Children's Center "Fight for the Kids" firefighter and police boxing event in 1996, and "Michelle Polan's" softball fundraiser in 1994.
  • Completed the Executive Fire Officer (EFO)Program at the National Fire Academy in 2008.
  • Graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Master of Science in Fire and Emergency Management Administration in 2002.
  • Graduated from Millikin University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1985.
  • Experience ranges from accounting, marketing and management in the private sector, to various supervisory positions in the public sector.
